What happens after you contact us
Response time
Section titled “Response time”We deliberately do not promise an exact number of hours. We are human, and holidays and busy periods happen. What experience allows us to say is that we respond quickly by industry standards.
If the matter is urgent because construction is already under way or a decision has a fixed deadline, state this in your message and we will prioritise it.
The fastest route: send everything
Section titled “The fastest route: send everything”This is the one part you control. The more information we receive at the start, the sooner we can give a meaningful answer and the fewer clarification rounds are required.
If you have an existing design
Section titled “If you have an existing design”Upload the complete package, not only two sheets. The missing drawings often contain the very information we would otherwise have to request later. The form is designed for large files: DWG, IFC, RVT, PDF, ZIP or anything else.
If you have a site
Section titled “If you have a site”Send everything available for it: cadastral reference, map extract, geotechnical report, utility information and relevant parts of the local building regulations. Without these, we can only make assumptions.
If you only have a sketch
Section titled “If you only have a sketch”A hand-drawn sketch is a perfectly useful starting point. It often enables meaningful technical thinking faster than a written description of the concept.
First define the service, then the price
Section titled “First define the service, then the price”The first step is not pricing but establishing exactly what you need. It is not unusual for someone to request production design, only for the discussion to reveal that the structure itself needs redesigning — or, conversely, that half the proposed scope is sufficient.
Once this is clear, we price the right service.
How we price work
Section titled “How we price work”Fundamentally, we estimate the amount of work involved. In practice, to keep pricing consistent, we normally start from a price per square metre and adjust it for complexity relative to floor area.
Complex on a small footprint
Section titled “Complex on a small footprint”A tiny house is extremely complex for its size: almost every square metre contains a connection, building service or bespoke solution. The rate per square metre is high, but the total remains modest because the floor area is small.
Simple on a large footprint
Section titled “Simple on a large footprint”An industrial hall that largely repeats one cross-section is the opposite. Its rate per square metre is relatively low because design effort does not increase in direct proportion to floor area.
What can you estimate in advance?
Section titled “What can you estimate in advance?”You know the floor area. We assess the complexity, but if you tell us the number of storeys, spans and the balance of unique and repeated elements, we can usually indicate an order of magnitude during the first conversation. We provide a precise price after reviewing the documents.
What we do not take on
Section titled “What we do not take on”The list is short: fully monolithic reinforced-concrete structures. We design concrete foundations, bracing cores and walls, but if most of the building is monolithic concrete, we are not the right practice. It is not our specialist field, and we do not accept work in which we cannot offer our best. We can recommend a designer who works with it every day.
Beyond that, there is little we reject on principle. If you are unsure, ask; one call will usually clarify it.
Where we work
Section titled “Where we work”We are based in Budapest and generally work remotely, which is sufficient for most design projects. On-site expert inspections and assessments are not our typical assignment. When circumstances clearly justify it and the client specifically requests it, we can attend, but our normal approach is to support the contractor and responsible site manager remotely using appropriate methods.
Construction-coordination projects are different and naturally include a site presence. We work throughout Hungary and also accept international projects.
