Dune: Part Two — bridge towers

Dune: Part Two — bridge towers

Commissioned by Mexi Steel · film set · structural

Mexi Steel built a bridge for the production and asked us to design the towers at either end. We designed only the supporting structure, not the final cladding — it reveals nothing of the finished look, so no confidentiality applied to it. There are no site photographs: photography was forbidden on set.

The main challenge was not the form but the way of working: the art department had never worked in a shared, survey-aligned 3D model, so that had to be introduced first. Then came a simplified massing model of the structure — the harder part. From there, designing the complex form was routine.
