During construction the contractor wanted to switch from the specified trapezoidal sheet, mineral wool and PVC build-up to a Kingspan X-dek system — lighter and cheaper. Every connection had to be redrawn, and in a swimming pool vapour control matters more than in almost any other building.

The hardest part was the rooflights in the sloping roof: the standard detail did not work with the new system. What we developed for it has proven itself in use. Some forty pages of connection drawings were made, line by line.
