What comes after the review
If the design is sound
Section titled “If the design is sound”We write that down too. It happens, and it is no disgrace.
You get a written confirmation you can proceed with confidently. That is worth as much as a list of faults — just in the other direction.
If there is something to fix
Section titled “If there is something to fix”You can choose between three routes:
1. Somebody else takes it on
Section titled “1. Somebody else takes it on”The review is a standalone service: anyone else can work on from the findings. We are not forced into the redesign — and neither are you.
2. Partial redesign
Section titled “2. Partial redesign”A single connection, a roof covering system, one structural unit. That is often enough, and substantially cheaper than a full redesign.
3. Full redesign
Section titled “3. Full redesign”If the design cannot be saved. That is structural design, as a separate service. Structural design.
If construction is already running
Section titled “If construction is already running”Then we can work on site too. A problem emerging mid-way needs different handling from one at the drawing board: there the question is not what would have been the right solution, but what is best from here.
What we do not do
Section titled “What we do not do”We do not look for someone to blame. Our aim is for the structure to be sound, not to undermine a colleague.
If a document is needed for legal action, we agree that separately — it is not an automatic by-product of the review. Confidentiality.
The material item
Section titled “The material item”On larger projects, identifying surplus material often pays for the review on its own — and that holds even if the design is otherwise faultless. Material optimisation.
The point
Section titled “The point”A review does not necessarily end in redesign. It can end in a written confirmation — and that is worth just as much.
