Design services and working method
What this knowledge base is
Section titled “What this knowledge base is”We have four services, and this knowledge base answers the same four questions about each of them:
- What it covers — what is in it and what is not.
- What it needs — the input without which we cannot start.
- What we hand over — files, formats, documents.
- How long and how much — what it depends on.
The four services
Section titled “The four services”01. General design
Section titled “01. General design”One contract, one responsible party, every discipline. From the needs assessment to the detailed design, and to site supervision if you want it. General design.
02. Structural and discipline design
Section titled “02. Structural and discipline design”Steel, light gauge steel and timber. From permit design to shop drawings. Structural design.
03. LGS shop design
Section titled “03. LGS shop design”A buildable shop design from finished drawings, the machine program, trial production. LGS shop design.
04. Plan review
Section titled “04. Plan review”For when the drawing you were given looks wrong. A written summary, ranked by risk. Plan review.
What is true of all of them
Section titled “What is true of all of them”The input decides. The more information we get at the start, the sooner we can answer properly — and the fewer rounds it takes. Send everything.
What is not here
Section titled “What is not here”The legal background: what a permit design contains, what simple notification is, what shop drawings are by definition. These do not depend on us, so they sit in the technology knowledge base and we link to them.
References are not here either — those are separate.
The point
Section titled “The point”This knowledge base is about working method. If you are looking for what the legislation says, it is in the technology knowledge base; if you want to know how we do it, it is here.
